Newman, Charles

Newman, Charles           1910 November 25th           Redlynch

Mr W J Trethowan, the new Coroner for South Wilts, on Tuesday evening held an inquest on the body of Charles Newman, a broom-maker, aged 74, who was found dead that morning.

Mr M Warner was appointed foreman of the jury.

Mark Newman, who lived with deceased, stated that his brother was not well on the previous evening, but apparently recovered, and went to bed. He found him dead in bed when he went to his room in the morning.

Dr Whitely expressed the opinion that the deceased had died in his sleep from failure of the heart’s action.

A verdict was returned accordingly. A singular coincidence is the fact that another brother of deceased died a few days since, near Ringwood, and was buried last Monday.
