Poole, George      1886 November 13th

Today, an inquest was held at the Devizes-road Hotel, relative to the death of George Poole, aged 53, of 2, Gas-lane.

A dairyman named Sidney Blake said that he was watching the deceased pitching some dung into a cart about eight o’clock yesterday morning, and conversed with him for about half an hour. Suddenly the deceased fell backwards to the ground and breathed once or twice. Witness went for assistance and when he returned, life was extinct.

A son of the deceased said that the latter told him on Wednesday evening that he was perfectly well.

Mr F R P Darke thought that death was due to heart disease, and a verdict in accordance with this view was returned.
