On Wednesday an inquest was also held respecting the death of James May, a groom in the employ of Mr Stephen Flower. It appeared that at about ten o’clock on Monday morning the deceased went out to load some hurdles, when he fell on them. A boy saw him fall, and called to Mr Flower, who went and took him in his arms. A messenger was despatched to another man for assistance, but before he arrived death took place.

Dr Pyle stated that he attended the deceased about a twelvemonth ago, when he had a fit, and his opinion was that he died from apoplexy. The jury returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony.

The deceased was one of those appointed to inquire into the death of Florence Thorne, but 13 were sworn on such jury, and there will, therefore, be no necessity to elect another juryman in his stead.
