who needs a blog?? do you feel happy talking to yourself? to get readers on blog or utube again depends on business skills and money. poor expressionists do not get readers due to lack of the gold!… the purpose of this is to diarize my thoughts –so they can run with smooth focus like a train with a mission –to compile it later on. Gandhi nehru farce is a good topic worth discussing since even Obama and all good leaders idolise Gandhi-but its always worth to hear the opposing side to see if their opinion has merit. What is their grouch? Truth requires contemplation. It not the duty of reckless animals who are focused on eating mating sleeping etc. But of humans (rare) who are searching for ways to uplift creation and self. It requires concentration – fixture, selflessness, austerity, goodness. dedication without faltering to the path of libelliousness. its not for everybody..One must discern, and not accept as truth everything that is served on a plate. this is the level of gravity required to lead a life that is healthy in mind body and spirit, and pleasing to God.

To know krishna, you have to hear from him – what what he is. One thing I noticed with my new devotee friends is they are so sweet – you’ll fall in love immediately. Krishna is madhurya – sweet.

Is a krishna community supposed to be the centre of scandal, dispute, enmity, corruption, suits, backbiting, arrogance and much more? I dont think so. In the Gita we read the qualities of devotee. At least external qualities which will help one recognize a real devotee.

Hear something about the divine nature Chapt XVI. – SUBLIMITY, TOLERANCE, FORTITUDE, PURITY, BEARING ENMITY TO NONE, ABSENCE OF SELF ESTEEM,

And the demoniac nature:

HYPOCRISY, ARROGANCE, ANGER, STERNNESS, IGNORANCE –  these lead to bondage.

Hypocrisy means cheating – situated in falsehood, pretension. Whenever we declare something to the world, it must be backed by evidence, not hearsay. We are living in the age of enlightenment, and every speck of advancement must be based on fact — not hearsay.

There is no question of enlightenment if our minds are clouded by doubts – for Krishna is sat – truth. So first proof of a devotee is he must be able to substantiate all claims by facts.

Anyway I use this simple formula to recognize a devotee or a body of devotees. How can be Krishna be present in the  middle of confusion?

I made some gulabjamoons using a recipe from Show me the Curry — and it made me SICK. 2 cups milk powder to 1 tsp baking soda? How the heck was I so naive to fall for this proportion?

The soda balls exploded in my stomach and had me vomiting all night. Milk powder is porous. It doesn’t need leavening. We put a touch of baking powder to leaven the flour, because gulabs call for a tablespoon of flour to keep it from breaking. Ok I won’t use their recipes from now.

Manjula’s recipe has too much butter. I’ll stick to Jamuna’s recipe — or my own measurements. I’ve never been disappointed, except sometime back, I guess due to some absentmindedness, they were hard inside. What the hell do you expect, if I’m glued to this damn laptop most of the time?

I am trying to figure out what the hell is the purpose of writing a blog — or writing anything for that matter.

1. To enjoy seeing your words in print.

2. To convey your thoughts to  others.

3.To empty your mind.

4. Its a hobby to pass time like knitting or crocheting.

5.To leave an  impression in  this world. maybe someday your thoughts would be collected and printed.

6.To practice typewriting.

7.To be great. Great people write.

Since the inception of the computer or internet, so many people have become writers -which would not have happened before. They would not have wasted their time to record their thoughts in longhand. Therefore this new itch to be a writer in my mind stems from the ability to move your fingers on a keyboard, see the printed result and save it as a document — technical skill.

Once you have this skill you are a writer. It doesn’t matter what kind of crap jumps out your mind, and how it affects the world, you are a writer. There is no sense of responsibility. It should be known that it is the duty of an artist to educate and uplift.

News broadcasts are different — that’s journalism. Journalistic broadcasts which aggravates, agitates war and tension promotes stress should be avoided in my opinion. It’s their way of making money, but why should I lose my peace over it? A friend of mine once told me in joke ” I don’t like too much peace.” I was telling him how great it was to live in the country. So you see, people are passionate — they feed on strife.

If I like cooking? Of course no! I enjoy it when I’m devoting it to Krishna. I love drinking juice all the time. I get passion fruit from the trees so I have that fresh juice everyday. Now this fruit is so fragrant, it could be made into an expensive perfume.

I like to think of nature as Krishna art. Because all the creations are so perfect and beautiful. I supposed thats why we entities are bound here. Krishna’s art is irresistible.  you can’t get enough.

If you are not one hundred percent devoted, there will always be a nook where you will fall down from the path. Eg the  internet could be the most powerful form of corruption. And it happens to the most innocent unsuspecting person. Those with experience will know what I’m saying. The mind is like a wild destructive horse and it has to be restrained all the time.

I started the day with a nice bhajan which i am working on. Now I am here doing this. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Truer words have never been spoken.

I haven’t received emails in a long time but it makes you feel special, like when you receive a gift. An email or letter has risen to the status of surprise gift. So I thank my dear friend Adin.

I just don’t get it how people you consider intelligent are shackled down by blind illogical faith. Thats why I conclude that real knowledge comes from Krishna – external sources only promote illusions.

Krishna = sadhu, sastra and guru for us. Sastra is the highest manifestation of Krishna, according to my latest revelations. But its possible that tomorrow I might be thinking differently.

Now there are different grades of sadhu and guru, and they serve different purposes in this world. We have to distinguish the differences and understand that not all of them are on equal level. Discrimination is a sign of intelligence — and the fact is a vaisnava is not supposed to be an ass. Vishnu doesn’t prevail over tama – stupidity.

I am receiving email from my friend in Israel. What does this mean? Well everybody wants to be the object of special attention. Unfortunately, the way things are now, we don’t have time even to make a phone call to people who gave us this body – our parents. So Fathers day and Mothers day have been invented. And elders are left to die in old age homes. A personal phone call, a few lines in a letter means so much. Thats why people still love getting cards – and the electronic card will never be able to substitute. Even though the world has become smaller, people have become more isolated. It  means we are so focused on cyberspace or the TV set we don’t notice if somebody is dying right next to us. And we say civilization is advancing? Yes, but at a cost having a population overpowered by selfishness and mental illness, it doesn’t care if the planet goes to hell. unless someone comes on TV and makes a little show about it.

More in a while.  I gotta get ready to go to the store. Still here. I mean how the hell are we expected to nurture our fellow human beings if we can’t call in one day to give a word of inspiration or support. This advanced civilization is nothing short of a dissappointing sham!

i was told by Govinda, a Facebook friend that sri Naam is a person and one is supposed to serve Him as thus – on the same level as Krishna. So I have to be careful not to chant while mind is going crazy. Attentively – instead of rushing like a racehorse to finish 64 malas. I am chanting 10 mantras only. Mantra mean Hare Krishna mantra. I learnt this technique while reading the darshan of His Sanctitude Haridas Shastri Maharaji, the guruji of Govinda. First we must learn to recite the holy names one mantra nicely, then ten mantras, before we graduate to one hundred and eight mantras etc. So I am trying out this technique.I am learning so much from his darshans I will share them.

I was reading Vishnu Puran today. Its a translation by Wilson. Some devotees like to recommend certain translators. But i use what i have. the chapter deals wih the advent of Krishna.

The gods, headed by Brahma had journeyed to the edge of the milky ocean to plead with Narayan on behalf of the earth which was besieged by demons like Kans. This is occuring in the material universe. Vishnu plucked two hairs from his head – one black, one white, and declared that he would descend to earth like this — one white form, one black form,  to relieve the earth. This was Krishna and Balaram.

The text said Narayan — i wonder if the Purana was talking about Maha Vishnu who lives in the causal ocean. I guess it was, since it was the Vishnu Purana.
